The spring season is all about change. It’s a time to clean your space, refresh your wardrobe, maybe switch to iced coffee. And while we can always find inspiration in the past, spring is really more about looking to the future.

Every year spring brings new beginnings, new growth—and especially new music. This Saturday on Second Inversion: Music in Bloom. We’re dreaming of spring, with music inspired by chirping birds, buzzing bees, and budding flowers. From super blooms in the South African desert to melodies carried on the salty seas of Japan, we’ll hear music inspired by the sweet sounds of spring.

Music is like water: it can be calm and serene, or choppy and chaotic. It can lift you, carry you, or bury you—it can immerse you in its waves.

On this Saturday’s episode of Second Inversion, we’re scuba diving for new sounds. We’ll get lost in the waves, with music ranging from rippling rivers to epic storms and tender whale songs. Plus, a sound ecologist takes us to the beach to listen to the barnacles.
